LYME CENTER, N.H. -- Bates alpine skiing senior captain
Kyle Kagan turned in his second consecutive outstanding performance in the giant slalom on Saturday, placing 15th out of 85 competitors to lead the Bobcats at the Dartmouth Carnival.
Kagan (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) backed up his seventh-place showing last week at Saint Michael's with another outstanding performance, recording a two-run combined time of 1:57.82 at Dartmouth Skiway. Kagan's 15th-place finish was good for 27 carnival points and 16 NCAA points.
Senior
Wyatt Hoffman (Old Lyme, Conn.) and senior captain
Nic Hotermans (Weston, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Bates men's team in 45th and 53rd place respectively.
On the women's side, senior captain
Kenzie Arnott (Stowe, Vt.) paced the Bobcats in 48th place with a two-run combined time of 2:06.29. Senior
Jaelie Hovey (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) and first-year
Helena Jankovic (Pittsfield, Mass.) were close behind, in 49th and 50th place with times of 2:06.39 and 2:06.84 respectively.Â
Combined, the Bates alpine and Nordic skiing teams scored 263 carnival points at Dartmouth over the course of two days, good for 11th place out of 14 EISA schools.Â
The Bobcats are back in action next Friday and Saturday at the Middlebury Carnival.
