Career: One of 90 Senior Scholar Award-winners, who have participated in varsity sports for four years and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better. 

2025: Team captain.... NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Ranked 21st in the EISA in the giant slalom.... Recorded a two-run combined time of 2:34.04 in the GS at the Bates Carnival, enough for 28th place, 17 carnival points and three NCAA points (Jan. 10).... Placed 24th out of 85 competitors to pace the Bates alpine skiers in the giant slalom at the St. Lawrence Carnival, recording a two-run combined time of 2:13.44, earning 20 carnival points and seven NCAA points (Jan. 10).... Turned in the performance of his career, tying for seventh place out of 85 competitors in the giant slalom at the Saint Michael's Carnival, the best carnival finish by a Bates male alpine skier since Michael Cooper '20 placed sixth in the slalom at the Bates Carnival in 2017.... Recorded a two-run combined time of 1:49.86, tying him with Boston College's Bode Flanigan for seventh place and earning the Bobcats 34 carnival points.... Kagan also picked up 36 NCAA points for his efforts (Jan. 31).... Turned in his second consecutive outstanding performance in the giant slalom, placing 15th out of 85 competitors to lead the Bobcats at the Dartmouth Carnival... Backed up his seventh-place showing at Saint Michael's with another outstanding performance, recording a two-run combined time of 1:57.82 at Dartmouth Skiway.... Kagan's 15th-place finish was good for 27 carnival points and 16 NCAA points (Feb. 8).... Raced down the Middlebury Snow Bowl in a two-run combined time of 2:02.08, good for 32nd place out of 85 collegiate skiers, earning the Bobcats 14 carnival points at the Middlebury Carnival (Feb. 15).

2024: Ranked 49th in the EISA in the slalom and ranked 58th in the giant slalom.... Scored points for the Bobcats in the slalom at the Middlebury Carnival, taking 41st in 1:39.70 (Feb. 23).... Took 28th place in the slalom in 1:33.52 at the UVM Carnival (Feb. 18).... Ripped off a two-run combined time of 1:35.86 in the slalom at the Williams Carnival, good for 26th place and 16 carnival points, as well as five NCAA points (Feb. 17)....Finished in the top 30 for the men's team in the giant slalom at the Williams Carnival, tying for 30th with his two-run combined time of 1:37.84, picking up 11.5 carnival points and one NCAA point (Feb. 16).... Just missed a top-30 showing in the giant slalom at the Dartmouth Carnival, coming in 31st in 1:50.78, enough for 12 carnival points (Feb. 9).

2023: NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Ranked 58th in the EISA in the giant slalom.... Took 30th in the GS with a two-run combined time of 2:11.76, good for 14 carnival points and one NCAA point at the St. Lawrence Carnival (Feb. 24).

2022: United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association All-Academic selection.... Ranked 47th in the EISA in the slalom and 58th in the giant slalom.... Picked up 10 carnival points with a 41st place finish in the giant slalom at the Middlebury Carnival, recording a two-run combined time of 2:07.55 (Feb. 19).... Placed 30th with a two-run combined time of 1.46.36 in the slalom at the Dartmouth Carnival (Feb. 12).... Scored points for Bates and for himself with a 28th place showing in the giant slalom at the Saint Michael's Carnival, recording his two runs in a combined 1:43.02, good for 15 carnival points and three NCAA points (Jan. 21).

Personal: 2020 graduate of Steamboat Springs (Colo.) High School where he competed on golf and lacrosse.
