HANCOCK, Vt. -- Bates women's alpine skiing junior
Juliette Hoder continued what's been by far her best year yet in the giant slalom on Friday by placing 16th at the Middlebury Carnival.
Hoder (Stowe, Vt.) raced down the hill at the Middlebury Snow Bowl in a two-run combined time of 2:02.69 to pace the Bobcats as she took 16th out of 77 collegiate skiers. With that performance, Hoder earned 26 carnival points and 15 NCAA points.
Senior
Caroline Roy (Wellesley, Mass.) also impressed, just missing a top-30 finish as she took 31st in a two-run combined time of 2:05.61. Roy earned 16 carnival points for her efforts. Meanwhile, first-year
Regan Clute (Tahoe City, Calif.) rounded out the scoring in 38th place with her mark of 2:06.41, enough for 11 carnival points.
On the men's side, sophomore
Evan Gramas (Stowe, Vt.) found the scoring column with his two-run combined time of 2:01.09. Gramas tied for 40th place out of 89 collegiate skiers and earned 7.5 carnival points.
Combined, the Bates alpine and Nordic skiing teams scored 134.5 carnival points on Friday, good for 11th place out of 14 EISA schools. The Bobcats wrap up the Middlebury Carnival on Saturday as the alpine skiing team competes in the slalom starting at 9 a.m.
