Nic Hotermans both turned in strong performances in the slalom for the Bates alpine skiing teams Friday morning at the Dartmouth Carnival.
Hoder (Stowe, Vt.) raced down the hill at Dartmouth Skiway in a two-run combined time of 1:42.94, good for 14th place in a field of 80 collegiate skiers. She earned 26 carnival points and 18 NCAA points for her efforts. Senior captain
Kenzie Arnott (Stowe, Vt.) also scored points for the Bobcats in the women's race, taking 46th place with her two-run combined time of 1:48.60.
Hotermans (Weston, Mass.) notched a two-run combined time of 1:35.81, earning 17th place in a field of 85 collegiate skiers in the men's race. He picked up 23 carnival points and 14 NCAA points for his performance. First-year
Evan Gramas (Morrisville, Vt.) finished in 48th place with his two-run combined time of 1:40.15, earning nine carnival points.
Combined, the Bates alpine and Nordic skiing teams tallied 128 carnival points on day one of the Dartmouth Carnival. The two teams are back in action again Saturday, with the alpine skiing teams competing in the giant slalom at 9 a.m.
