Despite the final outcome,
Eric Diop recorded his first collegiate dual match triumph in comeback fashion. The first-year, playing at No. 4 singles, outlasted Eckerd's Eric Asakura (Sr.-Yokohama, Japan) by a score of 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 in a 65-minute contest.

Adrian Gheorghe (So.-London, England) and Marshall Hulett (So.-KwaZulu Natal, South Africa) followed by defeating
Ben Adey and
Evangelo Kapothanasis, 6-2, at No. 2 to counter the Bobcats. Asakura and Lukas Palla (Fy.-Caldaro, Italy) topped
Nicolas Ozer and
James Sacco in the No. 3 slot, 6-3, to clinch the doubles point for the home team.
The host-Tritons improve to 2-1 on the spring while the garnet and white opens the schedule at 0-4.
Bates sees its next action on Saturday, Mar. 1 as the Bobcats host the University of Southern Maine (10:00 a.m.) and Nichols College (2:00 p.m.) for a men's tennis twin-bill in Merrill Gymnasium.
