RIPTON, Vt. -- The Bates Nordic skiing teams wrapped up the Middlebury Carnival on Saturday when they competed in the 10K classical technique race at Rikert Outdoor Center.
Sophomore
Eske Roennau (Aspen, Colo.) turned in the best performance for the Bobcats, pacing the men's team with a 54th place finish out of 91 collegiate skiers. He clocked in at 27:30.7, earning 11 carnival points. First-year
Oliver Wilson (Dublin, N.H.) finished in 64th place, earning eight carnival points with his time of 27:57.7. First-year
Sage Grossi (Montpelier, Vt.) rounded out the scoring in 70th place with a time of 28:05.1, picking up six carnival points.
On the women's side, first-year
Hannah Grohman (Biddeford, Maine) led the way for the Bobcats, taking 58th place out of 85 collegiate skiers with her time of 33:07.1. Senior captain
Nina Chosy (Madison, Wis.) was right behind her in 59th, crossing the finish line in 33:07.7. First-year
Elsa Sanborn (Burlington, Vt.) rounded out the scoring in 61st place with a time of 33:13.9.
Combined, the Bates Nordic and alpine skiing teams scored 214 carnival points over the course of two days, good for 12th place out of the 14 EISA schools competing at Middlebury.
The Nordic skiing teams head to the UNH Carnival next Friday and Saturday, where they'll compete in the 7.5K classic and the 20K freestyle races in Jackson, N.H. The UNH Carnival doubles as the NCAA East Regional Championships this year.
