BOSTON -- Senior captain
Truman Williams turned in another historic performance, breaking the Bates record in the 500 meters with his run Saturday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University.
Williams (Montclair, N.J.) recorded a time of 1:03.31 in the 500, winning his section and taking fourth place overall out of 29 runners at the meet, behind just a pair of athletes from BYU and an unattached runner. His time breaks the previous school record of 1:04.65, set in 2015 by
Patrick Griffin '17. On top of that, Williams now ranks third in the
history of NCAA Division III in the event.
While Williams was the headliner, a number of Bobcats shined on Saturday.

- Sophomore Evan Berthiaume (East Greenwich, R.I.) won his section in the 200-meter dash, racing to the finish in 22.16 seconds.
