LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates senior guard Brady Coyne is the Maine Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association. 

Coyne (Falmouth, Maine) was on fire from outside last week, hitting a combined 11-15 from three-point range in wins over Thomas College and Maine Maritime Academy. He tallied 13 points on 4-6 shooting in a 101-53 win over the Terriers and followed that up with a season-high 23 points on 8-11 shooting in a 107-59 win over the Mariners.

This is the first time Coyne has been named the Maine Player of the Week in his collegiate career and he is the second Bobcat this season to be recognized by the MMBCWA. Junior forward Babacar Pouye (Carpinteria, Calif.) earned Maine Co-Player of the Week honors on Nov. 18.

Coyne currently ranks first on the team and fourth in the NESCAC in scoring at 16.8 points per game. Bates is 9-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season and the Bobcats are coming off their first back-to-back 100-point games since 2002-03. 

Bates men's basketball is off for the holidays before getting back in the swing of things on Monday, Dec. 29 when they visit No. 7 nationally ranked Emory for a 4 p.m. tip.
