LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates junior
Babacar Pouye is a first team All-State selection, sophomore
Sean O'Leary has been named to the All-Defensive team, and
Jamari Robinson is an All-Rookie team pick as the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association announced their end-of-season awards on Thursday.
Pouye (Carpinteria, Calif.) adds to his post-season accolades after having already been named first team All-NESCAC. He moves up to first team All-State after being named to the second team last season. A two-time Maine Player of the Week honoree this season, Pouye averaged a team-high 14.2 points and 8 rebounds per game while shooting .535 from the field. He has improved his scoring, rebounding, and shooting percentage every season since first stepping on campus in the fall of 2023. The Bobcats have improved as a team alongside him, making the NESCAC semifinals for the first time since 2012 and getting selected for their first NCAA Division III tournament appearance since the 2014-15 season.
O'Leary (Franklin, Mass.) is one of six players selected for the MMBCWA All-Defensive team. He always guarded the other team's best offensive player this season and did so effectively. Despite standing at just six-feet, four inches, he can defend anyone, no matter the height. For instance, he held Colby's 6-foot, 10-inch center to just 5.5 points per game in two wins for Bates. O'Leary tied for second on the team in steals (22) and was second in rebounds (118, including 85 defensive boards).
Robinson (Holbrook, Mass.) receives well-deserved recognition as one of five players on the MMBCWA All-Rookie team. He ranked third on the Bobcats in scoring at 10.4 points per game and shot over 43 percent from the floor and over 35 percent from three-point range. Robinson played his best against the best teams, including a season-high 27 points on 7-14 shooting at defending NCAA Division III champion Trinity.
The Bobcats finished their 2025-26 campaign with an 18-9 record, the fourth-most wins in one season in program history. They posted a record of 10-1 against schools from Maine and finished the year as the top-ranked team in the MMBCWA Coaches Poll.
