BOSTON -- Sophomore
Alannah Ardrey made her way onto the Bates all-time top 10 list in the triple jump, highlighting the non-scoring Suffolk Relays for the Bates women's track and field team Saturday at the TRACK at new balance.
Meet Highlights
- Ardrey (New York City) wasted no time moving into ninth on the Bates all-time performance list in the indoor triple jump, as she leaped 35-0.25 (10.67m) on her first attempt of the day. That mark ended up being good for fourth place at the meet. It was a huge personal record, as she had never even reached 34 feet in her previous attempts at Bates.
- Ardrey also set a personal record in the high jump as she cleared the bar at 5-2.25 (1.58m), good for eighth place.
- First-year Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine) won her section and placed sixth overall in the 200 meters in 26.71 seconds. Bila also placed seventh in the triple jump at 33-11.5 (10.35m).
- The Bates 4x400 relay team of first-year Madison Alves (Stoneham, Mass.), Bila, sophomore Lia Traficonte (Cumberland, Maine), and first-year Dara Salka (Somers, Conn.) won their section and took second place overall in 4:10.89, behind only a relay team from NCAA Division I school Sacred Heart.
- Junior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) placed third in the weight throw with a top effort of 53-4.5 (16.27m).
The Bobcats are back in action this Friday and Saturday when they host the Bates Invitational & Multi at Merrill Gym.
