CRAFTSBURY, Vt. -- Bates women's Nordic skiing senior captain
Olivia Cuneo and men's Nordic junior
Mathias Boudreau-Golfman both impressed with top-20 finishes in the 7.5K freestyle races Saturday at the Harvard Carnival.
Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) turned in an outstanding race, taking 14th out of 82 competitors with a time of 19:09, good for 27 carnival points and 18 NCAA points.
Senior
Rebecca Feist (Fairlee, Vt.) and junior
Katie Watt (Concord, N.H.) rounded out the scoring for the Bates women's team in 39th and 41st replace respectively, with Feist crossing the finish line in 20:27, one second ahead of Watt.
Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.) recorded a time of 17:08 to pace the men's team. It was enough for 17th place overall out of 86 competitors. He earned 24 carnival points and 14 NCAA points.
First-year
Wyatt Teaford (Peru, Vt.) and senior
Aidan McGaugh (Needham, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Bates men's team in 33rd and 56th place respectively. Teaford just missed picking up an NCAA point, but still earned the Bobcats 15 carnival points.
Combined, the Bates Nordic and alpine skiing teams have scored 340.5 points with two events remaining, the women's and men's giant slalom races, which are set for Sunday morning. The Bobcats are in eighth place overall out of 14 schools, just 2.5 points behind host Harvard.
