WOODFORD, Vt. -- The Bates Nordic skiing teams competed in 3x5K freestyle relay races Saturday to wrap up the Williams Carnival at Prospect Mountain.
The men's team of first-year
Wyatt Teaford (Peru, Vt.), senior captain
Cal Schrupp (Gilford, N.H.), and junior
Mathias Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.) raced to the finish in 43:09.7, good for eighth place out of 19 entries. The trio earned 53 carnival points for the Bobcats.
On the women's side, junior
Katie Watt (Concord, N.H.), senior
Rebecca Feist (Fairlee, Vt.), and senior captain
Olivia Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) raced to the finish in a combined time of 51:51.6, placing 11th out of 18 teams and earning 46 carnival points.
Combined, the Bates Nordic and alpine skiing teams tallied 353.5 carnival points over the course of two days, good for eighth place out of 14 EISA schools at the Williams Carnival.
The Nordic skiing teams are back in action next Friday and Saturday at the Middlebury Carnival, which doubles this season as the NCAA East Regional Championship.
