LEWISTON, Maine -- Alec Spiro, Labeeb Ali, and Ashton Monteiro recorded men's squash victories in their respective matches Saturday afternoon vs. No. 18 Amherst College in the Bates Squash Center.

The visiting Mammoths (8-5) won the match, defeating the Bobcats by a score of 6-3.

Spiro, playing at the No. 1 spot for Bates, coasted to a 3-0 win (11-7, 11-9, 11-7) over Amherst's Adam Lichtmacher. Ali (No. 2) and Monteiro (No. 4) each authored 3-1 triumphs for the garnet and white as the duo posted individual wins for the second time in less than 24 hours (Friday vs. St. Lawrence Unversity).

No. 25 Bates (1-8) will return to competition this Wednesday at No. 13 Colby College. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
