Ashton Monteiro recorded men's squash victories in their respective matches Saturday afternoon vs. No. 18 Amherst College in the Bates Squash Center.
The visiting Mammoths (8-5) won the match, defeating the Bobcats by a score of 6-3.
Spiro, playing at the No. 1 spot for Bates, coasted to a 3-0 win (11-7, 11-9, 11-7) over Amherst's Adam Lichtmacher. Ali (No. 2) and Monteiro (No. 4) each authored 3-1 triumphs for the garnet and white as the duo posted individual wins for the second time in less than 24 hours (Friday vs. St. Lawrence Unversity).
No. 25 Bates (1-8) will return to competition this Wednesday at No. 13 Colby College. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
