WATERVILLE, Maine -- Senior captain
Olivia Cuneo recorded another top-30 finish to lead the Bates Nordic skiing team in the 7.5K freestyle Friday at the Colby Carnival, held at Quarry Road Trails.
Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) raced to the finish in 20:55, good for 18th place out of 93 competitors. She earned the Bobcats 24 carnival points and picked up 13 NCAA points.Â
Senior
Rebecca Feist (Fairlee, Vt.) and junior
Katie Watt (Concord, N.H.) rounded out the scoring for the women's team, taking 33rd and 54th place respectively.Â
On the men's side, senior captain
Cal Schrupp (Gilford, N.H.) led the way, finishing in 34th place out of 87 competitors in 18:21, good for 15 carnival points. Junior
Mathias Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.) finished six seconds behind Schrupp in 36th place and first-year
Wyatt Teaford (Peru, Vt.) landed in 38th place in 18:34 to round out the scoring for the men's team.
Combined, the Nordic and alpine skiing teams scored 164 points on Friday, good for 8th place out of 14 schools on the EISA circuit through the first day of action at the Colby Carnival.Â
The Nordic skiing teams compete in the 20K classical technique races on Saturday, which get underway at 9:30am.
