LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College trio of
Labeeb Ali,
Nicolai Boe, and
Ashton Montiero recorded men's squash victories in their respective matches Friday night vs. No. 23 St. Lawrence University in the Bates Squash Center.
The visiting Saints (7-5) won the overall contest, defeating the Bobcats, 6-3.
Ali, playing at the No. 2 position for the garnet and white, shut out St. Lawrence's Alexander Scott by scores of 11-6, 11-7, 11-7. Following at No. 3, Boe brought his best vs. Harrison Callaway with a 3-0 win of his own (11-9, 11-7, 11-8). Montiero, not to be outdone, swept Harry Robson (11-6, 11-6, 11-6) at No. 4.
No. 25 Bates (1-7) now looks to Saturday when the Bobcats host No. 18 Amherst at 4:00 p.m.
