LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- In the final race on the EISA circuit this year, Bates Nordic captains
Olivia Cuneo and
Zander Martin paced the Bobcats Saturday in the 20K classic at the St. Lawrence Carnival.
Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) recorded a time of 1:08:50.3, good for 23rd place out of 65 competitors in the women's race. The junior earned 23 carnival points and eight NCAA points. Sophomores
Eliza Skillings (North Yarmouth, Maine) and
Katie Watt (Concord, N.H.) rounded out the scoring for Bates in 46th and 48th place respectively.
On the men's side, Martin (York, Maine) raced to the finish in 59:12.6, taking 35th place out of 70 competitors. The senior earned 13 carnival points for his efforts. Junior
Cal Schrupp (Gilford, N.H.) wasn't far behind, finishing 36th in 59:13.8 and picking up 12 carnival points. Sophomore
Mathias Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.) rounded out the scoring for the men in 51st place with a time of 1:02:41.0, enough for six carnival points.
The Bates Nordic and alpine skiing teams combined for 290 points over the course of two days at the St. Lawrence Carnival, good for 10th place out of 14 schools.
