GRANVILLE, Mass. -- Bates women's Nordic junior captain
Olivia Cuneo placed 16th out of 83 competitors in the 5K freestyle on Saturday, pacing the Bobcats at the Williams Carnival.
Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) raced to the finish in 12:44.7, earning Bates 25 carnival points and picking up 15 NCAA points. Sophomore
Nina Chosy (Madison, Wis.) and senior
Rebecca Feist (Concord, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Bates women in 56th and 58th place respectively.
On the men's side, junior
Cal Schrupp (Gilford, N.H.) led the way in the 10K freestyle, taking 32nd place out of 88 competitors in 23:10.2, enough for 15 carnival points. Senior captain
Zander Martin (York, Maine) and senior
Eli Grossman (South Burlington, Vt.) rounded out the scoring for the Bates men in 36th and 37th place respectively.
Combined, the Nordic and alpine skiing teams tallied 359 points over the course of two days at the Williams Carnival, good for 10th place out of 14 schools.
The Bobcats are back in action at the St. Lawrence Carnival this Friday and Saturday, which doubles as the NCAA East Regionals.
