Olivia Skillings all finished in the top 25 Friday at the UVM Carnival freestyle sprint races to pace the Bates Nordic skiing team.
The Bates women and men combined for 101 points on the day, good for ninth out of 14 EISA schools.Â
Schrupp (Gilford, N.H.) led the Bates men's team by placing 20th out of 93 collegiate skiers with a time of 3:42, earning 22 carnival points. First-year
Mathias Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.) raced to the finish in 3:48, good for 47th place and 11 carnival points. Junior
Sam Delamere (Fairbanks, Alaska) rounded out the scoring for the men with a 50th place showing, crossing the finish line in 3:50 and earning 10 carnival points.Â
On the women's side, Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) continued her impressive season, crossing the finish line in 4:25, good for 21st out of 86 collegiate skiers and earning the Bobcats 25 carnival points. Skillings (Portland, Maine) came in right behind Cuneo in 22nd place, crossing the line in 4:27 and earning 24 carnival points. First-year
Julia Oliver (Montpelier, Vt.) rounded out the scoring for Bates in 54th place with a time of 4:43, good for nine carnival points.
This weekend's scheduled alpine skiing races have been canceled but the Bates Nordic women's and men's teams return to action at the UVM Carnival Saturday morning with the 10K classical technique race. The action gets underway at 9:45am.Â
