Mathias Boudreau-Golfman led a trio of Bates men's Nordic skiers who placed in the top 30 Friday in the 10K classical technique race, highlighting the first day of the Dartmouth Carnival for the Bobcats.
Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.) navigated the Oak Hill course in 30:17.2, placing 21st out of 90 collegiate skiers. His efforts earned Bates 23 carnival points and Boudreau-Golfman picked up 10 NCAA points. Junior
Zander Martin (York, Maine) finished in 26th with a time of 30:22.1, good for 21 carnival points and six NCAA points. Sophomore
Cal Schrupp (Gilford, N.H.) also placed in the top 30, taking 28th with a time of 30:24.5, earning 19 carnival points and four NCAA points.
On the women's side, sophomore
Olivia Cuneo (St. George, Vt.) led the way in the 5K classic, finishing 33rd out of 86 skiers with a time of 18:29.9. She earned 19 carnival points and picked up an NCAA point as well. First-year
Eva McDonough (Aspen, Colo.) impressed as well with a 35th-place showing. She raced to the finish line in 18:36.7 and earned 18 carnival points. Junior
Rebecca Feist (Concord, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Bates in 49th place, recording a time of 19:04.7 and earning nine carnival points.
The Bates women and men combined for 109 points, finishing ahead of Harvard and good for eighth out of 14 EISA schools.
The Bates Nordic teams return to action Saturday for the 10K freestyle races, which get underway at 10am.
