NEW ORLEANS -- Bates senior Allison Hill was named Women's Track Athlete of the Year for the New England Region, while assistant coach Art Feeley received Women's Assistant Coach of the Year award on Wednesday, as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field regional award winners for 2017.

Hill (Brunswick, Maine) was recognized for her No. 1 national ranking in the 60-meter hurdles and her No. 8 ranking in the 200-meter dash -- the two events she will compete in Friday at the NCAA Championships at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She was also cited as the leadoff leg on the country's 12th-ranked 4x400 relay team, which ran 3:53.05 on a banked track. Hill broke or helped break the team records in all three of those events this season. She scored 20.5 points at the New England Division III indoor championship meet to lead the Bobcats to their best finish since 1990, a tie for third place.

Feeley is in his 11th year as women's and men's assistant cross country and track and field coach at Bates. Feeley helps coach both Hill and Bates junior two-time All-American Sally Ceesay (Bronx, N.Y.), who is the third-ranked triple jumper in Division III.

Each of the eight regions honored both gender's top track athletes and field athletes, and the top men's and women's head coaches and assistant coaches. Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches following a nomination period.
