Senior co-captain Charlotte Cabot (Dover, Mass.) had an easier time with her opponent, winning 3-0 (11-2, 11-3, 11-8) at the No. 5 position over Cricket di Galoma.

The other five-game match Bates won belonged to sophomore Katie Bull (Sudbury, Mass.) at the No. 7 position. She took a 2-1 lead only to see Caroline Pelham take the fourth game 12-10. But Bull didn't mess around in the fifth game, winning 11-3 to take the match 3-2 (10-12, 11-8, 11-9, 10-12, 11-3).

Meanwhile junior Blair Weintraub (New York, N.Y.) moved up to the No. 6 position and won 3-1 (11-6, 12-14, 11-6, 11-7) over Colby's Ren Robinson.
