LEWISTON, Maine -- The No. 16 nationally ranked Bates women's squash team improved to 8-8 with a 6-3 victory over Bowdoin College Friday night at the Bates Squash Center. The Polar Bears fell to 5-9 on the season.
Seniors Nessrine Arrifin (Penang, Malaysia) and Myriam Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) captured straight-game victories for the Bobcats in the number one and two positions, respectively, as Bates went on to win the first six positions in the match.Â
Senior Lesea Bourke (Greenwich, Conn.) defeated Bowdoin's Lee Torey 3-1 in the third position, while Emma Dunn (Bellevue, Wash.), Charlotte Cabot (Dover, Mass.), and Lauren Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) closed out the scoring for the Bobcats.Â
Chloe Polikoff captured the first point for Bowdoin by winning in straight games over Emma Korein (Rydal, Pa.) in the seventh position. Â
Bates will next host Wellesley College this afternoon at 5:00 in Lewiston.
