HARTFORD, Conn. -- Senior Dakota Donovan scored the game-ending goal in overtime, completing the Bates women's soccer team's 2-1 comeback victory at Trinity College on Saturday.

Bates (6-2-0, 3-2-0 NESCAC) has now won six of its first eight games for the first time since 2005, the year the Bobcats won the NESCAC Championship. The Bobcats travel to Amherst for a Sunday noon game tomorrow.

Bates has shown a penchant for the dramatic in NESCAC games, with one last-minute victory and two overtime wins in the past two weeks.

With the defeat, the Bantams fall to 4-3-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.

Just under five minutes into overtime, Donovan (Marblehead, Mass.) scored unassisted, her team-high fourth goal this season, to ice the third straight victory for the Bobcats.

Karyn Barrett opened the scoring and gave Trinity an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 28th minute. Laura Nee played a ball into the box and Barrett corralled it, turned and fired a shot past first-year netminder Sarah McCarthy (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Barrett's tally was her fourth of the season and Trinity headed into the break with a one-goal advantage.

A little over six and a half minutes into the second half, Bates evened the game at one as junior Maggie Coco (Avon, Conn.) scored inside the near post, redirecting a header by first-year Julia Rosen (Springfield, Ill.). The Bobcats played the ball into the box and after a deflection Shea knocked the ball past Trinity junior Monica DiFiori. Shea's tally was the only in the second half, despite both teams having quality chances.

Bates' McCarthy made seven saves, highlighted by several point-blank stops in the first half, to earn her second career win. On the opposite end, DiFiori turned aside four shots in a losing effort.

The Bantams held a 23-14 advantage in shots and took 10 corners, while Bates attempted just one corner kick.
