HADLEY, Mass. -- Junior duo
Nessrine Ariffin and
Myriam Kelly both received their third All-NESCAC honors in as many years on Thursday, as the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its All-NESCAC Women's Squash Team.
Ariffin (Penang, Malaysia) was named First Team All-NESCAC for the third time, while Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) received her first First Team All-NESCAC nod, after two years on the Second Team.
Ariffin has gone 12-3 individually this season at the No. 1 position in the lineup for the No. 12 nationally ranked Bobcats (11-6). Ariffin was 2-1 in the NESCAC Championship tournament, leading Bates to its best-ever conference finish, as runner-up to Trinity. Kelly is 10-7 at the No. 2 spot in the lineup.
Ariffin and Kelly will head the lineup this weekend as Bates travels to Princeton for the CSA Womens Team Nationals. Bates will face No. 13 Drexel in the opening (quarterfinal) round of Kurtz Cup (B Division) play on Friday at 2:30pm.
