WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bates College women's squash team swept seven out of nine matches en route to an 8-1 victory at Colby College on Wednesday night, in the Bobcats' regular-season finale.
The win raises the No. 13 nationally ranked Bobcats to 13-10 on the season, and drops the No. 21 Mules to 9-12.
Sophomore Cheri-Ann Parris (St. Philip, Barbados) defeated Kate Pistel 3-1 at the No. 1 position to move to 11-6 on the season playing the opponent's top player. Also winning their 11th matches of the season were first-years Rakey Drammeh (New York, N.Y.) and Samantha Matos (New York, N.Y.). Senior Anna Hogeland (Williamstown, Mass.) moved to 10-7 on the year with her fifth straight win.
Bates next competes at the College Squash Association Team Nationals, held at Princeton University Feb. 18-20.
