LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College women's lacrosse team closed out its season with a 15-12 victory over Connecticut College in a NESCAC contest Saturday at Campus Avenue Field.
The Bobcats (6-7, 2-7 NESCAC): led 6-4 at halftime and built a 14-8 advantage in the second half, then held off the Camels (4-11, 0-9 NESCAC) at the end.
Three players scored hat tricks for the Bobcats: sophomore Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.), who also notched an assist, junior Hannah Meyer (Concord, N.H.), and junior Katherine Farmer (Madison, Conn.).
Camels sophomore Lindsey Coit (South Portland, Maine) scored a game-high four goals and caused a game-high five turnovers. Sophomore Sarah Miner (Fairfield, Conn.) added a goal and three assists. Senior Kelsey Sullivan (Northfield, Mass.) had two goals and an assist, sophomore Aly Ridgway (South Berwick, Maine) scored twice, and senior Maggie Driscoll (Peabody, Mass.) added a goal and an assist.
Junior Meg Coffin (Westford, Mass.) and sophomore Sarah Peters (Acton, Mass.) both scored twice for Bates.
Senior Katie Unger (Concord, N.H.) had a goal and classmate Sonija Parson (Washington, D.C.) also scored a goal in their final college game. Senior Shannon Tully (Needham, Mass.), suffering from an ACL tear, came off the field and didn't return after starting the first seconds of the game.
Bates sophomore Katie Nickerson (Windham, N.H.) had nine saves in goal, while Connecticut College senior Alix Werner had 12.
