NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- Bates women's lacrosse senior midfielder
Caroline Keating is an IWLCA First Team All-Pilgrim Region selection, as announced Friday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Keating (Rye, N.Y.) is the first Bobcat to earn IWLCA All-Region honors since
Liv Sandford '20 in 2019 and the first Bates player named first team All-Region since
Camille Belletete '18 in 2017.
The latest honor for Keating comes on the heels of a second team All-NESCAC selection earlier this month.
Keating did a little bit of everything throughout her career for the Bobcats, finishing off her time at Bates by ranking seventh in the NESCAC this season in draw controls per game (4.00) and eighth in ground balls per game (2.44). Her 1.88 goals per game this year ties Keating with classmate
Lauren Wong '26 (Walpole, Mass.) for second on the Bobcats and 14th in the conference.
Some of Keating's top performances this year included four goals, four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and two draw controls at Claremont, three goals, four ground balls, three caused turnovers, and four draw controls in a 19-8 win over Redlands, three goals and five draw controls against eventual NESCAC champion Middlebury, four goals and seven draw controls in an 18-6 win over Plymouth State, four goals, two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and four draw controls at Tufts, and three goals, three ground balls, and a career-high 11 draw controls in a 14-9 win over Connecticut College.
Keating finishes her Bates career having accumulated 97 points (77 goals, 20 assists), 106 ground balls, 49 caused turnovers, and 211 draw controls.
The Bobcats won seven games for the second straight year while also making the NESCAC tournament for the second straight season, falling in the quarterfinal to national powerhouse Middlebury.
Keating is now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2026 IWLCA Division III All-American teams on May 22.
