Isabelle Meltzer tied for 48th out of 66 competitors to pace the Bates women's golf team over the weekend at the Jack Leaman Invitational, held at Orchards Golf Club.
Meltzer (Summit, N.J.) shot an 80 on Saturday and an 86 on Sunday, with the highlight of her tournament a birdie on the par-3 fifth hole. She also strung together seven consecutive pars to end Saturday's round.

Mehar Nijjer (Chandigarh, India) and senior captain
Kendall Reed (Newtown, Conn) also contributed to the scoring for the Bobcats, with Nijjer shooting back-to-back rounds of 86 and Reed finishing just one stroke back of her with an 88 and an 85. Nijjer birdied the seventh hole on Saturday and Reed birdied the 16th hole twice.
The Bobcats placed 12th overall at the tournament and return to action at the Trinity / Hartford Spring Invitational this Saturday and Sunday at Rockledge Golf Course in West Hartford, Conn.
