BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. -- Bates men's golf senior captain
Henry Ehrlich shot a 75 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday to pace the Bates men's golf team at the Tim Brown Invitational, held at Ballston Spa Country Club. The Bobcats turned in a strong performance as a team, placing seventh out of 17 schools at the tournament.
Ehrlich (Portland, Ore.) birdied three holes on Saturday and two more on Sunday, tying for 17th place in the field of 96 golfers at six over par. Meanwhile, first-year
Malin Adams (Litchfield, Conn.) had the lowest round of the weekend for the Bobcats, shooting a 72 on Sunday. He tallied three birdies on Saturday and five birdies on Sunday to tie for 21st at seven over par.
Two other Bobcats finished in the top 50, with sophomore
Sean Resnick (Walpole, Mass.) and junior
Charlie Weinman (Rye, N.Y.) tying for 31st at nine over par.
Overall, Bates improved by 13 strokes as a team on Sunday, as the Bobcats shot 22 over par to open the tournament before bouncing back for a nine-over-par finish. At 31 over for the tournament, the Bobcats finished in the upper half of the field, well-ahead of NESCAC rivals Bowdoin and Middlebury, among others.
Bates is back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Penmen Season Finale, held at Beaver Meadow Golf Course in Concord, N.H.
