STOWE, Vt. -- The Bates alpine skiing team netted a trio of top-30 finishes in the slalom Friday morning to wrap up the UVM Carnival for the Bobcats.

Evan Gramas (Stowe, Vt.) turned in the best performance of his collegiate career to date, taking 15th place out of 94 collegiate skiers in the men's slalom with his two-run combined time of 1:51.91. His performance was good for 28 carnival points and 16 NCAA points. First-yearsÂ
William Hostetter (Stowe, Vt.) andÂ
Caleb Stefanakos (Freeport, Maine) joined Gramas in the scoring column for Bates, placing 34th and 35th respectively. Hostetter recorded a two-run time of 1:57.90, earning 13 carnival points. Meanwhile, Stefanakos finished just behind him in 1:58.05, good for 12 carnival points.
On the women's side, junior
Juliette Hoder (Stowe, Vt.) placed in the top 20 for the second straight day, taking 18th place in a field of 98 skiers in the slalom with her two-run combined time of 1:59.71. Hoder earned 25 carnival points and 13 NCAA points. She was joined in the top 30 on Friday by seniorÂ
Lindsey Aten (Park City, Utah), who secured 25th place with a two-run combined time of 2:06.08. Aten earned 18 carnival points and six NCAA points.
Combined, the alpine and Nordic skiing teams have tallied 236 carnival points, good for 9th out of 14 EISA schools. The alpine skiing team's events at the UVM Carnival have concluded, with Nordic skiing having one more event this Saturday. Bates alpine skiing team is back in action next Friday at 9 a.m. when they compete in the giant slalom at the Williams Carnival, held at Jiminy Peak Mountain in Hancock, Mass.
