MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Junior
Victoria Adams tied for 36th out of 69 competitors to pace the Bates women's golf team at the George Phinney Classic, held Saturday and Sunday at Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
The Bobcats shot back-to-back rounds of 354 as a team to place 10th overall out of the 12 schools in the field. Bates finished just two strokes back of ninth-place Trinity and sixth strokes ahead of 11th-place Gettysburg.
Adams (Winchester, Mass.) shot an 83 on Saturday and an 84 on Sunday to finish with a two-day score of 167, just six strokes back of a top-20 finish. Sophomore
Isabelle Meltzer (Summit, N.J.) matched Adams for the low round of the weekend when she shot an 83 on Sunday, finishing with a two-day score of 175 and a 48th-place showing.
Junior
Madeline Cournoyer (Narragansett, R.I.) tied for 55th, with junior captain
Mehar Nijjer (Chandigarh, India) tying for 59th and first-year
Emma Lavallee (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) placing 61st to round out the weekend for Bates.
The Bobcats head to Taconic Golf Club next weekend for the Williams Invite.
