BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Bates women's golf junior
Victoria Adams and sophomore
Sarah Wicks both finished in the top 25 of the field at this weekend's Polar Bear shootout, held at Brunswick Golf Club.
Adams (Winchester, Mass.) placed 21st in a field of 86 golfers, finishing at seven over par. She was particularly strong on Saturday, shooting a one over 74. Overall, Adams tallied seven birdies, five on Saturday and two more on Sunday. Wicks (Tampa, Fla.) tied for 22nd at eight over par. She had the low round of the tournament for Bates with her even par 73 on Saturday, as Wicks opened the tournament with a pair of birdies. She tallied two more birdies on Sunday wrap up her weekend.
Overall, the Bobcats took eighth place out of 14 schools at the tournament at 49 over par. Junior captain
Mehar Nijjer (Chandigarh, India) and sophomoreÂ
Isabelle Meltzer (Summit, N.J.) both placed in the top 50, tying for 47th at 18 over par.Â
The Bobcats are back in action Oct. 18 and 19 at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship, held at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
