BREWSTER, Mass. -- In a dominating performance, junior
Victoria Adams earned medalist honors and the Bates women's golf team won the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship by a whopping 81 strokes, capping off the fall season in style at The Captains Golf Course on Cape Cod.
The Bobcats shot 55 over par as a team, which was well-ahead of runner-up Hartford (136 over par) in the field of 10 schools. Four of the top five spots on the final leaderboard belonged to Bobcats, starting with Adams (Winchester, Mass.), who shot a 75 on Saturday on the Starboard Course and a 73 on Sunday on the Port Course. She birdied three holes both days on her way to victory.
Junior captain
Mehar Nijjer (Chandigarh, India) was the runner-up, with scores of 81 and 75. Sophomore
Isabelle Meltzer (Summit, N.J.) and senior captain
Kendall Reed (Newtown, Conn.) took fourth and fifth place, respectively, in the field of 50 golfers. Meltzer shot an 81 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday, while Reed shot back-to-back rounds of 82.
Adams, Nijjer, Meltzer, and Reed each earned NEIGA All-New England honors for their performances.
All five Bates golfers placed in the top 10, with junior

This marks the first time the Bates women's golf team has won the NEIGA Championship since 2019.
