Moriah Scharn set a personal record in the 100-meter hurdles at Thursday's MIT Final Qualifier as the Bobcats sent a select few athletes to the non-scoring meet.
Meet Highlights
- Scharn (Dunstable, Mass.) raced to the finish in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles in a personal-record time of 14.68 seconds, besting her previous PR of 14.73 seconds. Scharn remains at second on the Bates all-time performance list in the event. She took seventh in the final on Thursday in 14.75 seconds.
- Sophomore Alannah Ardrey (New York City) took fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5-3 (1.60m).
- First-year Campbell Johnson (Naples, Maine) placed fifth in the triple jump with a top effort of 36-9 (11.20m).
- Junior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) took eighth in the hammer throw with a top heave of 159-9 (48.70m).
- First-year Madison Alves (Stoneham, Mass.) placed second in her section and 11th overall in the 200 meters in 25.96 seconds.
The Bobcats now wait to see who declares for the NCAA Championships in what events, with the top 22 in the country who declare in any given event earning bids to nationals.
