PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- No. 23 Bates College faced off against No. 6 seed and No. 26 ranked Wesleyan on day one of the 2025 Divisional Collegiate Men's Team Squash Championships as the Bobcats collected an 8-1 decision over the Cardinals.
Bates, serving as the No. 3 seed in the Summer Cup division of the event, will now take on No. 2 seed and No. 22 ranked St. Lawrence University in Saturday's semifinals (noon) as the Saints edged No. 7 seed and No. 27 ranked Dickinson, 5-4.

Alec Spiro, who was the Bobcats' lone competitor in the CSA Individual Championships in January, grabbed a clutch 3-2 win at the top spot of the lineup, defeating Wesleyan's Abhinav Gupta in five games (11-6, 10-12, 11-4, 10-12, 11-5).
Dennis Welte, Labeeb Ali, Ashton Monteiro, and Ryan Kim, playing at positions two through five respectively, each recorded 3-0 wins in the victory.
Maks Celm did the same for the Bobcats at No. 7, while
Angad Sethi (No. 6) and
Max Good (No. 8) needed four games each to lock down triumphs.
