JACKSON, N.H. -- First-year
Sage Grossi took 35th place out of 58 competitors in the 15K mass start freestyle race Saturday at the UNH Carnival, wrapping up the 2025 carnival season for the Bates Nordic skiing team.
Grossi (Montpelier, Vt.) crossed the finish line in 37:13.6, just ahead of teammate seniorÂ
Mathias Boudreau-Golfman (Londonderry, Vt.), who took 36th in 37:15.8. The pair earned a combined 29 carnival points for Bates. First-year
Cabot Godoy (Mammoth Lakes, Calif.) rounded out the scoring for the men's team in 43rd place with a time of 38:13.0, earning 11 carnival points.
On the women's side, senior captain
Eva McDonough (Woody Creek, Colo.) led the way in her final collegiate race, taking 40th placed out of 60 skiers with her time of 43:40.0, good for 11 carnival points. First-yearsÂ
Hannah Grohman (Biddeford, Maine) andÂ
Margaret Voisin (Montpelier, Vt.) rounded out the scoring for the women's team in 43rd and 49th place respectively.
Combined, the Bates Nordic and alpine skiing teams scored 269 carnival points over the course of two days at the UNH Carnival, good for 11th place out of 14 EISA schools.Â
