HANCOCK, Vt. -- Sophomore
Juliette Hoder took 17th place out of 79 collegiate skiers in the women's slalom to pace the Bates alpine skiing teams Friday at the Middlebury Carnival.
Hoder (Stowe, Vt.) recorded a two-run combined time of 1:39.03 at the Middlebury Snow Bowl, good for 24 carnival points and 14 NCAA points. It's her second straight top-20 finish in the slalom following her 14th place showing last week at the Dartmouth Carnival.
First-year
Helena Jankovic (Pittsfield, Mass.) and junior
Lindsey Aten (Park City, Utah) rounded out the scoring for the women's team, with Jankovic taking 38th place with her two-run combined time of 1:42.60 and Aten placing 39th in 1:43.37.
On the men's side, senior
Marat Washburn (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) tallied nine carnival points with a 45th place finish out of 85 collegiate skiers. Washburn recorded a two-run combined time of 1:37.02.
The Bates alpine and Nordic skiing teams combined for 121 carnival points on the first day of action, with the alpine skiing teams competing in the giant slalom Saturday starting at 9:15 a.m.
