Freddie Curtis shot back-to-back rounds of 74 to pace the Bates men's golf team Saturday and Sunday at the Tim Brown Invitational.
Curtis (Harvard, Mass.) finished six-over-par, good for a tie for 36th in a field of 128 golfers.Â
As a team, Bates shot 308 on Saturday and 301 on Sunday, good for a two-day score of 609, 41 over par. The Bobcats finished in 19th place out of 23 teams, ahead of NESCAC foe Wesleyan, among others.
First-year
Arthur Jenkins (Shreveport, La.) and senior
John Kawakami (Northport, N.Y.) both finished in the top 100 as well for the Bobcats, as Jenkins shot rounds of 78 and 75 for a tie for 83rd. Meanwhile, Kawakami had the biggest improvement from round one to round two for Bates, tallying an 80 on Saturday before bouncing back with a 74 on Sunday, good for a tie for 89th.
The Bobcats are back in action next Saturday and Sunday when they compete in the Williams Spring Invite at Taconic Golf Club.
