LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates women's basketball team received an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Division III tournament on Monday, and the Bobcats will host the first two rounds this Friday and Saturday at Alumni Gymnasium.
Bates (22-5) is hosting NCAA tournament games in women's basketball for the first time since 2005. The Bobcats take on Brooklyn College in the first round Friday at 6:30pm. Springfield and Widener will play prior to the Bates-Brooklyn game at 4pm. The winners of the two first-round games will play Saturday at 6:30pm.
Bates was the NESCAC runner-up this season, and based on their positioning in the bracket the Bobcats are one of the top four seeds in the tournament.Â
** Parking for the general public will be available behind Merrill Gymnasium (141 Russell Street) with overflow parking reserved at Lewiston Middle School/Lewiston Armory (65 Central Avenue). Accessible parking will be reserved in the parking lot behind Alumni Gym (130 Central Avenue).
