LEWISTON, Maine -- No. 23 Bates College, playing its first match of the 2024-25 season, hosted No. 16 Navy Friday as the visiting Midshipmen defeated the Bobcats, 6-3, in men's squash action.

Maks Celm recorded victories for the Bobcats in their respective matches.
Sethi, making his collegiate debut at the No. 4 position, outlasted Navy's Matthew Kang in a five-game thriller (12-14, 11-6, 10-12, 12-10, 11-8). Following at No. 5, Kim, also playing his first contest for the garnet and white, needed four games to dismiss Lucas Spiro (11-8, 7-11, 13-11, 13-11). Celm enjoyed his own 3-1 victory as the sophomore topped Ramsay Killinger (9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 13-11) at No. 7.
Bates (0-1) now looks to Saturday when the Bobcats host No. 17 MIT at 2:00 p.m.
