MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --  #19 Bates College, playing for third-place in the Summers Cup consolation final of the CSA Men's Squash Team Championships Sunday, fell to #21 Middlebury College, 5-4, in a match hosted by Wesleyan University.

Alec Spiro (So.-Portland, Ore.) and Garrett Wenberg (Jr.-Rye, N.Y.) accounted for two of the 'Cats four points with respective 3-0 victories at positions No. 1 and 9 for the garnet and white.

Jairaj Singh (Sr.-Jaipur, Rajasthan, India) went five games to knock off Middlebury's Julian Sandoval, 3-2, at No. 7. Sultan Hashmi (Sr.-Tiburon, Calif.) did the same at No. 8 for Bates with a 3-2 triumph over Alexis Ballo.

The Bobcats (11-8) will next journey to Philadelphia, Pa. for the second time in three weeks, this time to compete in the CSA Individual Championships, Mar. 3-5 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.
