AUBURN, Maine -- First-year
Victoria Adams shot an 80 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday for the lowest scores of her rookie season, tying for 20th individually and helping Bates to a sixth-place finish at the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, hosted by the Bobcats at Martindale Country Club.
Adams (Winchester, Mass.) and senior
Alex Voight-Shelley (State College, Pa.) paced the Bobcats in the tournament, with both tallying a two-day score of 161.
Meanwhile, sophomore
Ruby Haylock (Hartford, Maine) had the low round of the tournament for Bates, firing a 78 on Sunday to finish tied for 23rd with a two-day score of 162.
As a team, Bates shot 651 over the course of two days, two strokes ahead of seventh-place Wesleyan. Williams won the Fall Qualifier with a team score of 599, first out of eight teams. The Ephs also produced the individual medalist, with Euna Lee tallying a 145 to place first out of the 40 competitors at the tournament.
The top four teams (Williams, Amherst, Hamilton, and Middlebury) qualified for this spring's NESCAC Championship.
Bates' season continues next Saturday and Sunday at the NEIGA Championship, held at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
