WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Bates women's golf sophomore
Sarah Wicks placed in the top half of the field to lead the Bobcats at the Williams Fall Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at Taconic Golf Club.
The Bobcats improved by nine strokes on as a team on Sunday from their first-round performance, moving up one spot to finish 15th out of 20 schools in the field.
Wicks (Tampa, Fla.) tied for 50th out of 98 golfers, shooting an 81 on Saturday and notching four birdies on her way to a 79 on Sunday. Junior
Victoria Adams (Winchester, Mass.) shot the lowest round of the weekend for Bates, tallying three birdies on her way to a 78 on Sunday. This proved to be a big bounce-back round for Adams, who moved up 18 spots on the leader board, finishing in a tie for 70th.
Sophomore
Isabelle Meltzer (Summit, N.J.) tied for 75th at the tournament with rounds of 81 and 89.
The Bobcats are back in action next Saturday and Sunday when they head to Brunswick for the Polar Bear Shootout.
