Lewiston, Maine -- After having its season-high, six-match winning streak snapped Friday vs. #18 Williams, the #14 Bobcats rebounded Saturday as they took down #26 Hamilton, 7-2, in the Bates Squash Center in men's action.
The garnet and white, victorious in seven of its last eight outings, sees its record move to 8-2 with the effort. Hamilton still seeks its first win of the season, falling to 0-5 overall.
Labeeb Ali (So.-Plano, Texas),
Garrett Wenberg (Jr.-Rye, N.Y.),
Sultan Hashmi (Sr.-Tiburon, Calif.), and
Max Good (So.-Shaker Heights, Ohio) each earned 3-0 triumphs for the Bobcats at positions No. 5 through No. 8, respectively.
Harris Ramlee (So.-Southville City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), at No. 2 for Bates, put away Hamilton's Tobey Suratt in four games (11-9, 12-10, 4-11, 11-9).
Ashton Monteiro (Fy.-Greenwich, Conn.) followed at No. 3 with a 3-1 victory of his own (11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6).
Not to be outdone,
Matthew Lazor (Jr.-West Hartford, Conn.) concocted a 3-1 win over Jacob Shulman at No. 9 with scores of 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10.
The Bobcats, hosting its third match in as many days, welcomes #23 Middlebury College to Lewiston Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
