LEWISTON, Maine -- #14 Men's squash saw its season-long winning streak stopped at six as Bates College suffered a 7-2 home loss to #18 Williams Friday in the Bates Squash Center.
Despite the overall result,
Harris Ramlee (So.- Southville City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and
Sultan Hashmi (Tiburon, Calif.) enjoyed successful outings for the Bobcats, earned triumphs in the No. 3 and No. 9 positions, respectively.
Ramlee recorded a 3-0 win, holding off Williams' Andrew Minnis by scores of 12-10, 15-13, and 11-9. Hashmi needed 62 minutes and five games to claim victory as the senior dismissed Jon Nicholson in comeback fashion (10-12, 6-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8).
The Ephs, with the win, move to 6-4 on the season. The garnet and white sits at 7-2 overall going into Saturday's home contest (3:00 p.m.) vs. #26 Hamilton.
