NEW ORLEANS --Â All-Region honors for the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season, with six Bates women's track and field athletes making the list.Â
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
Senior captain
Elise Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) finishes off her remarkable career with an All-Region mark in the 800 meters, based on her outdoor season-best time of 2:11.94 at the MIT Final Qualifier. Lambert, a four-time All-American, graduates as the second-fastest 800-meter runner in Bates history.Â
A pair of heptathletes and a pair of steeplechasers also earned All-Region honors for Bates.
Junior
Abbey Otterbein (Beverly, Mass.) and sophomore
Livia Kozick (Portsmouth, N.H.) both had breakout years in the heptathlon, with Otterbein recording a career-high 3,821 points at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships and Kozick also recording a career-high at the same meet, finishing with 3,804 points. Otterbein currently ranks fourth on the Bates all-time performance list in the heptathlon and Kozick ranks fifth.Â
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, junior
Jordan Wilson (Medfield, Mass.) recorded an All-Region mark and surged up the Bates all-time performance into third place with her time of 11:10.39 at the MIT Final Qualifier. Meanwhile, first-year
Olivia Reynolds (Cumberland, Maine) burst onto the scene in 2022 with her time of 11:11.59 at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships, good for fourth on the Bates all-time performance list and All-Region honors.
Junior
Jillian Richardson (Auburn, Maine) rounds out the All-Region performers for Bates, with her career-best time of 37:46.16 in the 10,000 meters at the Open New England Championships. Richardson ranks 10th all-time at Bates in the event.Â
At the conference level, the NESCAC reigned supreme with 239 All-Region honors this spring.
