MEDFORD, Mass. -- Junior
Jillian Richardson ran the sixth fastest 3,000 meters race in Bates women's indoor track and field history to highlight the "Last Chance" meet hosted by Tufts University on Saturday.
Richardson (Auburn, Maine), an All-American this fall in cross country, ran the race in a career-best 9:59.29 as she broke the 10-minute mark for the first time. It's the 24th fastest 3K in the country this year, giving her a shot at the NCAA Championships if a few of the runners ahead of her opt not to run the event at nationals. Richardson will find out her fate Sunday at 7pm.
Senior captain
Amanda Kaufman (Somers, Conn.) ran her second fastest time of the season in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday, racing to the finish in 9.20 seconds in the finals.
