NEW YORK -- The Bates women's basketball team will take on the Roger Williams University Hawks in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, hosted by New York University.
Tip is set for 5pm. The game will take place in Brooklyn, N.Y, at
180 Remsen Street.
The Bobcats (17-7) earned an automatic bid to the national tournament thanks to winning the NESCAC championship for the first time in program history. Roger Williams is the Commonwealth Coast Conference champion.
If Bates defeats the Hawks (25-2), the Bobcats would play the winner of host NYU (25-1) and Washington & Lee (20-6) on Saturday.
This marks the Bates women's basketball team's seventh trip to the "Big Dance." The Bobcats last made the NCAA tournament in 2006.
