WATERVILLE, Maine -- Senior captain
Elise Lambert set a new personal record in the 600 meters, capturing the New England title in the process as the Bates women's track and field team finished 10th overall out of 25 schools Saturday at the regional indoor championships.
Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) earned 10 points for the Bobcats with her first place finish, recording a time of 1:36.05 that bettered her previous best of 1:37.06 by more than a second. She currently ranks second on the Bates all-time performance list in the event.
Junior
Jillian Richardson (Auburn, Maine) turned in a huge performance in the 3,000 meters, placing fifth in the event and moving up the Bates all-time performance list to seventh with her time of 10:07.26.
Senior captain
Amanda Kaufman (Somers, Conn.) took fourth in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.31 seconds.
As a team, the Bobcats recorded 22 points over the course of two days, two points ahead of 11th place Wellesley.
Select Bobcats will head to the Tufts final qualifier meet this Saturday, with one more chance at qualifying for NCAAs on the line.
