Phoebe Pohl led a 1-2 Bates finish in the 5000 meters to highlight the Bowdoin Invitational for the Bates women's track and field team on Saturday.
Pohl (Wayland, Mass.) won her first indoor 5K in 19:12.92, with sophomore
Isabel May (Erving, Mass.) placing second in 19:15.81.Â
Sophomore
Enisa Shoshi (Coraopolis, Pa.) had a big day for the Bobcats, setting three personal records. Shoshi took fourth in the long jump with a PR of 16-7.25. She landed in sixth place in the triple jump with a PR of 33-1.75 and her 60 meter hurdles time of 9.73 was good for 10th place.
Junior
Abbey Otterbein (Beverly, Mass.) improved on her performance in the pentathlon, finishing in third place and recording a personal record point total of 2644. She took first place in the shot put (35-6.5) and the 800 meters (2:32.45).
Sophomore
Kahryn Cullenberg (Chesterville, Maine) took third place in the 3,000 meters in a personal record time of 10:42.46.Â
In the throwing department, first-year
Hope Seketa (Williamsville, N.Y.) recorded a personal record in the weight throw at 31-5.75.
The Bowdoin Invitational was a non-scoring meet. Bates now gears up for the New England Division III Indoor Championships, taking place next Friday and Saturday at Colby College.
